Vertical vs Horizontal: Which is better?
Vertical mixers are superior for processing long fiber (hay/silage) and providing a "lift and fold" mixing action that prevents compaction, making it better for modern high-intake rations.

What tractor power do I need?
It depends on the capacity. A 7m³ unit typically needs 50-60 HP, while a twin-auger 15m³ unit requires 90-100 HP. Our high-efficiency planetary gearboxes help reduce the starting torque required.

How do I calculate the right mixer capacity?
The standard rule is 1m³ of capacity per 8-10 mature cows per feeding. For example, if you have 100 cows and feed once a day, a 12m³ mixer is ideal. If you feed twice daily, a 7m³ unit will be more efficient.

Can it handle whole round dry hay bales?
Absolutely. Our vertical auger equipped with serrated manganese steel knives is designed to shred whole bales within 5-8 minutes. There is no need for pre-cutting, which saves significant labor and machinery hours.

What is the lifespan of the knives and tub?
With Q345B Manganese steel construction, our tubs typically last 10+ years in standard conditions. The tungsten-carbide coated knives should be inspected every 6 months and generally require replacement after processing 10,000-15,000 tons of feed.
